After completing the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) program, there are several steps you can take to progress towards becoming a professional pilot.

  1. Build Flight Experience: Gain flight hours and experience by actively flying. Instructor Rating is a good way to accumulate flight time through flight instruction. It also allows you to share your knowledge and passion for aviation with others. We always try our best to hire own Instructor Rating graduates. Being one of the busiest flight schools in Canada, our instructor can easily fly 800-1000 hours per year.
  2. Instrument Rating (IR): Obtain an Instrument Rating (IR) if you haven’t already done so. This rating allows you to fly in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) and improves your proficiency in instrument flying techniques.
  3. Multi-Engine Rating: Consider obtaining a Multi-Engine Rating. This rating allows you to fly aircraft with multiple engines, which expands your opportunities for more advanced aircraft operations.
  4. Type Rating: As you progress in your career, you may need to obtain a Type Rating for specific aircraft types you wish to fly. Type Ratings provide the necessary training and certification to operate specific aircraft models.
  5. Network and Job Search: Network within the aviation industry, attend career fairs, and connect with professionals in the field. Pro has trained thousands of pilots in past 37+ years. Our alumni are flying commercially in Canada and around the world. Our strong alumni network in the aviation industry has helped Pro graduates in landing their first job and advance towards their dream job as their careers progress.

Remember, the path to becoming a professional pilot may vary based on your location, aviation regulations, and personal preferences. It’s essential to stay informed, set clear goals, and continue learning and improving your skills throughout your aviation journey.
