With over 35,000 built, the Cessna 172 is the world’s most popular general aviation aircraft. The C-172 is a practical and versatile aircraft. Not only is it an excellent VFR and IFR trainer, but the C-172 is also a reasonable four-seat, cross-country machine. The C-172 is the “big brother” to the C-152 and also has a reliable Lycoming engine. We operate several of these aircraft at our Boundary Bay facility.

Life's a BEECH. We have operated the Beechcraft Duchess for years, and have always been impressed with its quality, durability, and superb feel in flight. They are an upscale IFR trainer and offer an excellent stable platform for instrument training. All three of our Duchesses are equipped with a modern avionics package (HSI, RMI, and DME) and are identically configured so that students can freely transfer between aircraft.

At Pro IFR Victoria, we operate our twin Piper Seminole. At first glance, it looks much like a Duchess. As per the Duchess, our Seminole has proved to be a solid, reliable and stable IFR trainer. This aircraft is also equipped with HSI, RMI and DME.

Aircraft Details
The ATC-810 Flight Simulator has been absolutely key to Professional Flight Centre's success. John Montgomery often says, "You win or lose the instrument rating in the simulator", and without question, truer words have never been spoken. The ATC-810 closely replicates the Duchess and Seminole twin. To date, no better simulator has been built that can do an equivalent job. The big key is the avionics. All our simulators and our twins are equipped with HSI, RMI and DME. When you combine a simulator a like "feel" to an aircraft with an identical avionics package, you've got an unbeatable combination.

Aircraft Details
The R-22 is a safe, reliable, and modern trainer with an excellent track record for dependability. As a company, Robinson aspires to superior maintenance and airworthiness standards. The engine is built by Lycoming, the manufacturer of dependable aviation piston engines. For IFR training, the R22 is an excellent instrument platform. The aircraft is equipped with a modern avionics package including an intercom and a King HSI and RMI. These instruments are not often found in helicopter IFR trainers, and go a long way to help make the transition to the Rotary Wing IFR World a positive experience. Our IFR Simulators are very closely configured to our R22, facilitating an easy transition to the helicopter when the candidate is ready to complete this segment of the training syllabus. Although relatively small in size, the R22 is faster in "cruise" than many other comparable helicopter trainers. The R22 allows for an easy transition to turbine equipment and has a proven track record in supplying the industry with well qualified and knowledgeable helicopter pilots.

Aircraft Details
We use Omega Aviation’s Bell 206 Jet Ranger for Turbine Type Ratings. This is the most commonly used light Commercial Helicopter in use today. The Jet Ranger is a very versatile machine and is used extensively in field operations throughout Canada. They are frequently seen as passenger transport aircraft, reconnaissance, external load carrying, exploration support, as well as heli-logging support. For these reasons, they are an excellent helicopter to be type rated on. As an option, we are able to do the Instrument Rating on the Jet Ranger if you wish.
